One of my enduring passions is for Abbeydale china. This highly collectable porcelain was manufactured for a few years in a tiny factory in my home village of Duffield in Derbyshire when I was at school there. The factory was housed in an old chapel that in the nineteenth century had been a school run by my great-grandmother. I have collected the china avidly ever since and am now the pre-eminent authority on the subject and have at long last begun work on a definitive book on the history and wares of the Abbeydale factory.
